Sample Reading and Common Questions
Not sure what you will receive? Here is an example of the style and structure of a written reading, followed by tips for wording your question and answers to the questions we hear most.
This sample was written to show the format. It is not a real client’s reading, and it contains no personal details.
Example: a three-card Career Path reading
Question: “I’ve been offered a new role at a different company. What do I need to understand before I decide?”
Card 1, where you are: Four of Cups. You have been feeling a quiet dissatisfaction, and this card says you have been turning away small offers because none of them felt like the right one. This isn’t ingratitude. It is your intuition telling you the current chapter has run its course.
Card 2, what is influencing the decision: Eight of Pentacles. This is the card of craft and steady effort. Your skills are real and recognized, which is why this offer exists. The caution is to ask whether the new role lets you keep building mastery or only changes your title.
Card 3, where this can lead: The Star. A hopeful, restorative card. It suggests that choosing the path that renews your energy, rather than only the safest one, leads to relief and renewed confidence.
Guidance: Before you answer, ask the new employer two questions about growth and support, and notice how you feel when you imagine saying yes versus saying no. The cards lean toward change, but the decision stays with you.
A full reading is longer and shaped around the details you share, with card-by-card meaning and practical next steps.
How to word your question
- Name the situation. “My relationship with my sister” gives the cards more to work with than “my family.”
- Ask open questions. “What do I need to understand about my career path right now?” works better than a yes-or-no question.
- Stick to one theme. One clear question per reading keeps the guidance focused.
- Share what you’re comfortable with. Names, timeframes and what you have already tried help, but you decide how much to say.
- Forgot to add your question? Reply to your order confirmation email with your name, order number and question.
